Since it was announced last April, leaks about “Arkham Origins” have been slowly gathering. The premise centers on a younger Batman as he faces insurmountable threats on Christmas Eve. The mob boss known as Black Mask has placed a bounty on the his head and has dispatched several assassins, including Deathstroke, to kill him. Batman’s time as a crimefighter is also relegated to the shadows, as his reputation with the police and Gotham City is uneasy. “Arkham Origins” will also feature new ways to explore this early version of Gotham, as Batman now has the Batwing to transport him through the city. The Dark Knight can also improve his reputation with the GCPD by solving “Crimes In Progress” and assisting them or undertaking “Most Wanted” side missions to capture villains outside of the main campaign. New gadgets will also be at his disposal along with familiar gameplay methods, combat skills, and the Detective Mode from previous games. "Arkham Origins" has also spawned a new wave of merchandise that fans and collectors can look forward to. Chief among these are new 6.75” DC Direct figures based on the prequel. The first two figures that have been revealed are Batman and Black Mask.
